The Isles continue to take steps in the right direction under Patrick Roy with two big wins over Toronto and Tampa, before an uninspiring setback vs Calgary. Sean and Stefen discussed their performance and where it leaves them. Then they were joined by Coach Ed and Little Ed of the Rangers Ed Podcast to talk about the big Stadium Series showdown at MetLife Stadium, and Jonny Lazarus of Daily Faceoff jumped on to talk Rangers and lots more!

2:30 – Sean and Stefen discuss the 3 games coming out of the All-Star Break, where the Islanders went 2-1 versus the Leafs, Lightning and Flames. Their two wins were very encouraging, holding onto a late lead versus the Leafs, and took advantage of a tired Lightning team on a back-to-back with a 6-2 blowout win. The Isles came out flat against a hot Flames team (no pun intended), and failed to secure any momentum until late in the third period.

7:00 – Stefen dives into the Isles dominant performance against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

8:00 – Stefen dives into the Isles impressive win in Toronto, where Pierre Engvall scored a late goal in the third period to win it.

“The Islanders went for the killshot, they got the lead and then just played smart hockey. That’s a huge win for them because we’ve seen in the past that game completely go the other way.”

– Stefen Rosner on the Islanders continuing to play their game with the lead, a stark contrast to the Trotz/Lane philosophy of shelling up and piling it in the D-Zone

11:00 – Sean and Stefen talk about the Islanders becoming more and more healthy. With Ryan Pulock and Adam Pelech back, the Islanders defenseman outlook improves significantly. Dobson and Romanov have to play less minutes, and Reilly and Mayfield don’t have to play other teams’ top lines. With Casey Cizikas back, the Islanders energy gains a massive boost.

13:00 – What’s on Tap!

The Seattle Kraken came into UBS Arena on Tuesday night. The Isles get four days off until the Stadium Series where they take on the Rangers at 3 PM on Sunday.

18:00 – Hero of the Week!
