The Isles finally look like the team we think they are, but there is still a lot more work to be done. Sean and Stefen discussed their performance and where the momentum from their 3-0 week could take them.

2:00 – Sean and Stefen start the show by discussing the Islanders last week of play, going 3-0 versus three likely playoff teams. Barzal took over in overtime to get the win versus Dallas, the Islanders finally scored an empty net goal to secure the win in Detroit, and completely dominated the Boston Bruins on Saturday night.

5:00 – The boys break down the Islanders win in Dallas, where Mat Barzal put the team on his back in overtime and refused to lose. He showed off his tenacity and strength to get the puck back from the corner, then he held onto the puck and found Bo Horvat for the game-winning goal. Barzal was also pivotal in Detroit, scoring the eventual game-winner.

8:00 – Sean and Stefen talk about the dominant performance that the Islanders put up against the Boston Bruins, seemingly reeling all their fans back in for a playoff push.

“[The Islanders] still have to show us more. They’re still on the outside looking in, but it was a huge game for them and it was definitely a confidence-booster through all the blown games. Maybe this is a team now that can get back on their horse and maybe they can look like the team we all thought was capable of more.”

– Sean Cuthbert on the momentum the Islanders can gain from their win over the Bruins

12:00 – Stefen breaks down the play of the new lines. The new second line with Anders Lee, JG Pageau and Kyle Palmieri had yet to click, and then they exploded in the first period against Boston. Barzal, Horvat and Brock Nelson have looked fantastic, and so have Pierre Engvall, Casey Cizikas and Simon Holmstrom. Even Kyle MacLean has centered the fourth line perfectly, using his speed, physicality and IQ to make great reads and be in great positioning.

17:00 – Sean asks Stefen about how these past three wins have impacted the stance Lou Lamoriello will have at the trade deadline. Lou could buy and add depth pieces or go big and add a goalscorer. Either way, buying will mean selling, whether that’s big or small pieces. Lou probably won’t move a first round pick or any of the big salary guys, but a mid-round pick or Oliver Wahlstrom could be moved. Stefen says his gut instinct is that Lou will add a depth forward.

23:00 – What’s on Tap!

On Tuesday the Islanders host the St. Louis Blues before heading out west for a three game trip. They’re in San Jose on Thursday, Anaheim on Sunday, and LA on Monday.

29:30 – Hero of the Week!

Sean’s pick: Kyle Palmieri

Stefen’s pick: Kyle MacLean

34:00 – The boys welcome Justin Bourne of Sportsnet to the show!

50:00 – The guys continue to talk about the upcoming trade deadline and how the Islanders can find themselves in the playoff spot.

56:00 – The show head’s to the Snake Den to hear some takes from Jake the Snake! Jake says that Sebastian Aho has proved himself as a reliable defenseman for this Islanders team.

1:00:00 – Questions Brewin’!
