Tuesday (2/4) vs Vegas, 7:30pm – The Islanders will look to sweep the season series against a struggling Golden Knights squad. Vegas is recovering from a 4-2 loss against the New York Rangers, putting them on a three-game skid. The Islanders will need to take advantage of a VGK team that will be without Alex Pietrangelo and starting a shaky Aidan Hill.
Friday (2/7) at Winnipeg, 8:00pm – The Islanders will be facing one of the best teams in the league. Winnipeg has the reigning Vezina Trophy Winner Connor Hellebuyck and Nikolaj Ehlers on a point-per-game heater. The Islanders will need to set the tone and control the pace of the game to beat a superb team like the Winnipeg Jets.
Saturday (2/8) at Minnesota, 8:00 pm – The Islanders will take on a struggling Minnesota squad who is missing their best player in Kirill Kaprizov. This is a team that the Islanders, according to Sean, can “pounce on.” The Wild are reeling from a demoralizing 6-0 loss to the Ottawa Senators and the Islanders should take advantage of a disoriented team.
51:05 – Hero of the Week
Stefen’s Pick: Ilya Sorokin
The Islander netminder was named the NHL’s First Star of the week for his incredible performance. Sorokin won all three of his starts this week, had a 1.33 Goals Against Average, a .953 Save Percentage, and a shutout against the Flyers.
Sean’s Pick: Simon Holmstrom
Simon Holmstrom had 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points this week. Sean also mentions that he is on a 53-point pace which could indicate a breakout year. Holmstrom’s performance as of late can be credited to his confidence in his play and his best asset: his powerful shot.

53:29 – Questions Brewin’
53:59 – 7-game win streak is great but Isles outshooting teams like Tampa and Florida is what stands out to me even more as a change. Was this happening all season and they weren’t getting results or is this a recent change?
54:48 – Talk about how the salary cap increase will affect the isles going forward?
56:21 – Any predictions for the four nations faceoff? Or any players you’re looking forward to watching?
58:10 – Name a 1st line forward on a non-playoff team that you could see Lou making a trade for.
59:01 – When is the last time that an Islanders player had a Hat Trick?
59:24 – If we decide to keep the UFAs and try to retool through free agency, who could the Isles realistically target to fill those holes?
1:01:41 – Does Lou have something up his sleeve as far as trades go? If players start to get healthy (defense)….will Lou waive assets he’s acquired OR is he prepping for a trade?
1:02:46 – If the Islanders make the playoffs, do you think they have any chance of beating Washington or Florida in the first round?
1:05:09 – Would Barzal make a better window or mirror?
