Dan Rosen of nhl.com talks about how the Islanders can reshape their roster

-Dan Rosen on the state of the Islanders
41:45 – What’s on Tap? presented by Centre Station Bar & Grill
Monday (12/23) vs Buffalo, 7:30pm – The Islanders play against the Buffalo Sabres, a team riding a 13-game losing streak. Rasmus Dahlin, who missed his last game against the Maple Leafs due to back spasms, will return to Buffalo’s lineup.
Saturday (12/28) vs Pittsburgh, 7:30pm – The Islanders begin part 1 of their back-to-back against the Pittsburgh Penguins in which they are neck-and-neck with in the standings.
Sunday (12/29) at Pittsburgh, 5:30pm – The Islanders close their back-to-back home-and-home the Penguins. It would be very encouraging if they could snag four points against a division rival like the Penguins.
Stefen talks about the importance of taking points from the Penguins this weekend.
47:24– Hero of the Week
Stefen’s Pick: Isaiah George
George scored his first NHL goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs Saturday. He has been instrumental in keeping the blueline stable after injuries mounted and has demonstrated growth and maturity in his game.
Sean’s Pick: Bo Horvat
Horvat potted one against the Maple Leafs and set up Maxim Tsyplakov for a goal Saturday night as well. Horvat continues to demonstrate why he earned his contract from 2023 as he leads on and off the score sheet.

51:40 – Welcome to the Snake Den! With Jake “The Snake” Radonis
Jake, who usually has positive takes for the team, had a suspicious feeling the Islanders would lay an egg against the struggling Buffalo Sabres. He stated it feels “so “Islanders” for the team to gift the Buffalo Sabres an early Christmas gift by snapping their 13-game losing streak.
Jake concluded his take by predicting the Islanders would lose in overtime by a score of 3-2, then lose one and win one against the Penguins over the weekend for a 1-1-1 record on the week.
Jake gives his take on Isles vs. Sabres from The Snake Den
56:32 – Questions Brewin’
57:15 – If Laviolette gets fired, what are the chances that the Islanders imitate the Blues and fire Lou, move Roy to GM, and hire Laviolette as the next coach?
59:07 – Has anyone dropped off as much as Cizikas?
1:00:46 – In my opinion I would say at the deadline JG, Casey, Nelson, and Palms are all expendable. Am I wrong? Or would you add anyone else?
1:04:34 – Does Hogberg get the start against Buffalo tomorrow? Has Roy talked at all about Sorokin’s workload with Varly being injured?
1:06:56 – Last night’s broadcast made multiple references to how much Barzal likes to play against and beat Tavares. Player rivalries can be fun storylines. Do NHL teams not want these stories told?
1:08:53 – If Tavares is available and willing to sign, do you bring him back?
1:10:35 – Is Lou keeping Matt Martin around to recruit Mitch Marner this summer?
1:11;39 – Does ownership put pressure on Lou to move players or generate some buzz if this team continues to falter?
1:12:17 – Could Cizikas get traded if they are eliminated?
Sean talks about the Islanders collecting trade capital if they fall out of contention
