31:08 – Arthur ends the interview by asking for Chris’ thoughts on the New York Islanders’ turn around regarding their prospect pool.
“I don’t know if we saw it coming this soon….Matthew Schaefer plays the game at a pace that is all his own.”
– Chris Peters on Schaefer’s early success.
35:48 – What’s On Tap?
Monday (11/10) @ New Jersey, 7:00pm – The Islanders will take on another tri-state rival who are currently in second place in the Metropolitan Division. This will be another test in their pursuit to build upon Saturday night’s dominant win as they will be taking on a team, that Arthur states, “finds a way to win.”
Thursday (11/13) @ Las Vegas, 10:00pm – The New York Islanders will head out west to take on Mitch Marner and the Vegas Golden Knights. Vegas is a team that, while they have had their early-season struggles, is a tough team to face off against. The Knights have seemingly found a gem in Pavel Dorofeyev, who had 35 goals last season and is currently on a red-hot start with 10 goals in 14 games this season. The Islanders swept Las Vegas last season, but this year’s edition of the Golden Knights is expected to be much more challenging.
Friday (11/14) @ Utah, 9:00pm – Next up on the gauntlet are the potent Utah Mammoth, who had a respectable start to the season with stars like Nick Schmaltz, Clayton Keller, and former Buffalo Sabre JJ Peterka. The Islanders will need to clamp down on defense and take advantage of a team that is still formalizing their identity after their recent acquisitions during the offseason. Utah is a fast-paced team that will need special attention from the Islanders’ blue line.
Sunday (11/16) @ Colorado, 9:00pm – After a season sweep last year, the Islanders will play a Colorado Avalanche squad that has made significant upgrades including a familiar face in old friend in Brock Nelson. The Islanders, who Sean mentioned usually play well against the Avalanche, will need to capitalize against a weaker bottom six but without underestimating them, especially rookie Gavin Brindley who is having a solid start to his NHL career.
45:19 – Hero of the Week! presented by NOK Hockey
Sean’s Pick: JG Pageau is Sean’s clear pick as he has been a pit bull to play against and has contributed significantly on the Islanders’ middle six. Pageau currently has 5 goals and 6 assists for 11 points in 15 games.
Arthur’s Pick: Arthur chooses Bo Horvat who has been a catalyst for the Islanders’ offense. Horvat had a two-goal game against the New York Rangers on Saturday as well as on Tuesday against the Boston Bruins for a grand total of 4 goals and 1 assist for 5 points in the 3 games played this week. Arthur additionally hinted if Bo Horvat should be considered for Team Canada’s Olympic team this year.
50:15 – Questions Brewin’
51:04 – Thoughts on the D pairings from last night? Should they stay?
52:18 – Is Prokhorov a bust? He has zero points & seems that he hardly plays. For a second round pick, you never hear nothing at all. What is the latest update if any?
53:41 – Do you see Gleb getting a call up before the new year?
55:12 – Does Bridgeport have any AJ Greer type players? What is going on with Foudy?
59:48 – Would Lou have drafted a kid like Aitcheson? He seems like a fun personality, along with Schaefer and the Prokhorov kid appear to have a different flavor than what the team has been used to.
1:00:50 – Does Shabanov replace Casey when he returns?
1:03:17 – Is Ritchie here to stay?
1:04:30 – Do you see Horvat getting 50 goals?
1:05:49 – Do you see the NHL getting rid of the shootout?
1:07:48 – Adam Pelech is +9 on the season. For a guy that plays almost entirely defensive minutes and always plays against other teams’ best forwards…..does he not get enough respect for his value to the team.
1:09:44 – I think Ritchie needs to step up and start getting 10+ minutes a night. If he’s playing 8-minutes a night, is he better served playing bigger minutes in the A?
1:10:19 – Why are so many teams struggling in NHL? Ie Edmonton.

1:11:59 – Arthur’s Anthem: Jimmy Eat World – “The Middle”
To end the show, Arthur picks Jimmy Eat World “The Middle” to describe the New York Islanders’ vibes this week, especially considering where they are in the standings as a result of their recent middling performance.
