15:44 – On the Line: Sammi Silber, The Hockey News presented by Tovi Hockey

17:48 – Sean follows up by asking Sammi about what she thinks was the most incredible goal she got to witness Ovechkin score.

19:27 – Stefen asks Sammi which of Ovechkin’s former teammates gave the coolest interview in her latest piece for The Hockey News.

26:34 – Sean asks Sammi about Capitals’ head coach Spencer Carbery and his impact on Washington’s revamped lineup from this past offseason.

29:06 – Stefen closes up his questions by asking Sammi about Ryan Leonard and his first week as an NHLer.

35:21 – What’s on Tap? presented by Centre Station Bar & Grill

Tuesday (4/8) @ Nashville, 8:00pm – The Islanders previously defeated the Predators in a 7-4 victory where Ilya Sorokin scored his first NHL goal at UBS Arena. They look to defeat a team that has had a lackluster season and hopefully use those points to potentially climb back into the playoff race.

Thursday (4/10) vs New York, 7:30 – The Islanders have their last showdown against the New York Rangers for the 2024-2025 season. While both teams seem checked out of the playoff race, the rivalry continues as they both try to end the series with the last laugh. The Islanders will be looking to avoid a season series sweep and will face the Rangers’ top prospect, Gabe Perreault.

“The Caps, they’ve fallen into trap games where they play down to their opponents and it comes back to bite them.”
– Sammi Silber on the Capitals’ potential weaknesses

40:19 – Hero of the Week

Stefen’s Pick: Ilya Sorokin

Stefen chooses Ilya Sorokin for how he handled Alex Ovechkin scoring the record-breaking goal. Sorokin was previously known for being the only goalie in the league that Ovechkin hadn’t scored on until yesterday afternoon. Sorokin was a class act and gave Ovechkin his stick to congratulate him on his monumental achievement. Sorokin was phenomenal in Sunday’s 4-1 win over the Capitals and the 3-1 victory over Minnesota.

Sean’s Pick: Marc Gatcomb

Sean picked Marc Gatcomb for his superb performance as of late. Gatcomb had two goals in the 4-1 win over the Capitals and currently has 8 goals and 1 assist in his 33 games played with the team. Gatcomb is quietly emerging as a long-term bottom-six option for the Islanders as the team looks to reorganize the fourth line for the future where he delivers his hard work and grit to energize the lineup.

45:27 – Welcome to the Snake Den! With Jake “The Snake” Radonis

Jake starts us off by talking about how predictable it was for Alexander Ovechkin to score the record-breaking goal against the Islanders.

46:45 – He does add that the Islanders should still be content with the result as they came out of the game with a dominant 4-1 victory over a Stanley Cup contender.

48:20 – Jake mentions how poetic it was that Gretzky’s final NHL goal in 1999 was against the Islanders and then accompanied by Ovechkin’s record-breaking goal yesterday afternoon, 26 years later. Jake adds that he doesn’t think that any player could break this record for the time being; he does mention that the only name that comes to mind is Auston Matthews.

50:25 – Jake concludes by adding how Islanders’ prospect Calum Ritchie has been tearing it up in the OHL with 70 points in 47 games, with 7 points in his last 5 games. He finishes it off by giving his prediction for the 2 games this week.

52:35 – Questions Brewin’

53:31 – Is there a chance Isles will try to sign Brock nelson in free agency or has that ship sailed?

53:59 – Did John MacLean say anything about being on the ice for Gretzky’s 894th and behind the bench for Ovi’s 895th? Is he the only person who was ice level for both?

54:20 – Do you think the “off season moves” LL mentioned involves more than signing RFAs. picking at 13-15, signing a FA 3rd liner, and using draft picks to get an aging dman off this team?

57:47 – How do Isles rise from this mediocrity we have all suffered for so long, if they keep pumping out their chests after meaningless wins & ruining draft position? Cost Isles Jagr!

59:55 – Why does Roy hate Scott Perunovich? Lol, seriously though he seems like a system fit for Roy, why isn’t he getting a chance even for limited minutes?

1:01:54 – What’s going to happen with Duclair?

1:05:31 – Why does Lou seem to always give out deals that too long in term? It seems to me he doesn’t understand that longer term deals give you less cap flexibility.

1:09:17 – Do you see Calum Ritchie coming up to join the Islanders next year? Do Nelson and Finley do all 4 years at college?

1:12:25 – When was the last time the Islanders and Rangers missed the playoffs together?

1:13:29 – How many goals is Bellows scoring on Tuesday?
